Our Story

Egress Window Guy LLC was originally founded in 2001 by Mark Johnson. With his trusty shovel and his old F-150 pick-up truck “Old-Timer”, Mark started installing Egress Windows as a “one man show”. Mark, as the Egress Window Guy, established a reputation as the best full service Egress Window installation company in the Minneapolis area. Core values such as integrity, excellent customer service, open communication with the homeowner, and quality craftsmanship have become synonymous with the reputation of the company and enabled Mark to grow the company by adding more experts in the Egress trade to his team.

For over 10 years, Mark’s team and Egress Window Guy has seen many promising years of service. In 2011, Mark was presented with the opportunity to take the company to the next level of service for his customers by selling the company including his trusty shovel and his truck “Old Timer” to Don Weld Jr., a Minneapolis native known for his lifetime of the same core principles and reputation in the construction business that Mark had established with Egress Window Guy. Egress Window Guy LLC transitioned to Egress Window Guy INC. in 2011.

About Don Weld Jr:

Don Weld Jr. began his long career in the construction industry when he was a young teenager. He grew up learning the construction business by working along the side of his father. In 1972, Don started Weld and Son’s Plumbing Company. Although the lessons he learned while working with his father were many, the core values that Don learned are still practiced today with all of Don’s endeavors and he is now passing those values on through his dedication to carrying on business with his family. Those core values are:

Integrity and Professionalism
